How it works

Reviews show up when your memory needs them

Every new word climbs a ladder of intervals. Remember it, and the next step is longer. Forget it, and the word comes back sooner. Ten minutes a day builds a vocabulary that doesn’t fade.

  1. minsame day
  2. 1day
  3. 3days
  4. 8days
  5. 20days
  6. 50days

A word you’ve kept for more than 21 days moves to long-term memory. Reviewing early doesn’t inflate the interval: only an answer given when the word is actually due counts.

5

exercises, each on its own schedule

Flashcards, multiple choice, typing, building a word from letters and a phrase from words. Recognising a word and writing it are different skills, so they’re reviewed separately. There’s a timed sprint for warming up.

Lori and Pletyk

Slowly, daily, in small jumps

Lori is a slow loris. He does everything a little at a time, but he never stops: he keeps the streak going and handles the long haul. That’s exactly how spaced repetition works.

Pletyk is his friend, a little spider in glasses. He’s quick: he runs along the progress bar, jumps at every right answer and weaves a web out of your words. Each word you learn is one more thread.

Why doesn’t Lori eat him? Too slow to catch him, so they agreed to be friends.
